Axel Honneth: from recognition to the idea of socialism | Dominican University College

Continuing the exploration of the Frankfurt School’s critical theory, this seminar proposes a perusal of Axel Honneth’s intellectual path from the notion of “recognition” to his latest work on the “Idea of Socialism”. The course will present a comprehensive overview of one of the most important contemporary thinkers of the Frankfurt School. Students looking to develop critical intellectual tools for understanding today’s political and ethical issues will particularly benefit from this course. The course will be spread out from May to August.

Please note that undergraduate students must be in 3rd or 4th year of their program.
